Three roads in Beaconsfield will have "Slow Down" signs installed next month, in a bid to tackle speeding motorists.

The vehicle activated signs have been long-awaited by residents and safety campaigners in Beaconsfield, and they will finally be installed in Burkes Road, Gregories Road and Sandleswood End

The signs are part of a Buckinghamshire County Council project costing more that £250,000. They will light up and say 'slow down' to any motorists that are exceeding the 30mph limit.

There has been an additional commitment from the council to spend £45,000 to construct a bus bay and a pedestrian refuge on the A40 through Holtspur, near the junction with Broad Lane. No date has been confirmed for this work to commence.

It's a credit to our local councillors and road safety campaigners that Beaconsfield has been granted the funding for much needed improvement works that will keep us all safer as a result.
