Crack down on illegal Parking

Most would agree that illegal parking around town had created hazards for pedestrians, cyclists and other drivers alike. Between July 21st - 28th, the Police undertook an exercise which led to 60 fines being issued. I'd guess some of these tickets were issued to residents of Beaconsfield, not just to people visiting the town. We all contribute to creating the community we live in, and we must all make a choice to park respectfully all around Beaconsfield - not just in our own home street.

    I would bet that when these drivers were pulled for parking where they shouldn't there was parking a plenty in one of the car parks that are organised by South Bucks Council, but they are too far away for some of these delicate people to walk, after all they are car drivers.

    With all the budget cuts the government is making, one has to wonder whether the 'crackdown' and so many fines being given out has a little more to do with raising additional funds rather than tackling what's clearly a shortage of parking in Beaconsfield...
