Vote now for your favourite pub or bar in Beaconsfield! (See the bottom right hand side of our homepage.)

There's certainly a wide selection available in and around our town, offering a full spectrum of styles and atmospheres. I've made it my mission to review them here, but please add your comments and vote for your favourites here on Beaconsfield People.

Charles Dickens is a cosy and quaint venue. When I sat there warming myself by the open fire, seeing Beaconsfield Old town outside the window I could almost feel transported back to Dickensian times. This has been a favorite haunt with colleagues of mine for an after work drink and gossip.

The Crazy Bear

You might not be admitted into the Bar without a dinner reservation - but for a really special night out this is THE place to celebrate. Whether sipping cocktails in one of 2 luxurious bars or eating in the English or Thai restaurant, you're in for a real treat. You must expect to pay for the privilege of this sumptuous and exotic environment but I personally think it's worth every penny. The goats cheese starter and fish and chips were particularly memorable. There's no way to describe this place, so you'll just have to try it for yourselves.

The Greyhound Bar

The Greyhound bar has fabulous plush and intimate interiors downstairs, a big function room upstairs for private parties, and a really lively and friendly crowd of locals. On weekends there are DJs in an ample back room to keep you entertained, and I must say it was one of the best nights out I've had in ages. Didn't have a chance to sample the garden or taste anything from the food menu (which looks fantastic) but I will definitely be back there again.

The Jolly Cricketers is located in Seer Green is a big favorite with some neighbours of mine. The Management here often run events that suit the whole family, and their listing in the Good Beer guide is certainly well deserved. This is another beautiful old building and just like the others it has it's own unique charm so is well worth a visit.

Red Lion Knotty Green

The Red Lion in Knotty green is situated just outside Beaconsfield New Town. It's a lovely venue with all the classic pub dishes and great value 2 and 3 course menu deals. Something noticeable about this place is the range of special events and entertainment they arrange here. Whether you're quiz addict or fancy yourself as a poker champion, then this is the place for you.

Revolution Bar

This is an enormous, lively and vibrant party place, with a broad cocktail menu and more kinds of Vodka than I even knew existed! You can book for parties, and benefit from ordering your cocktails in pitchers which are great value for money. They even cater for corporate function - just look at their website for more details.

Royal Standard of England

This place is one in a million, and has been an award winning pub in Buckinghamshire on more than one occasion. Sections of this building are quite ancient and really picturesque, with original stain glass and beams. The cosy, rustic and fascinating interiors make it a real talking point with guests, and they are very family friendly. The menu is solid, good quality country fayre, with a few real treats thrown in for the more adventurous palette. On one occasion a group of morris dancers turned - and that's not something I'd ever seen before - a very memorable venue all round. Don't just take my word for it though, see what the Daily Telegraph have to say.

The Saracens Head

Is a large pub housed in a period building, with plush modern decoration and lovely rear courtyard garden. Loads of parking out front and an a massive range of beers, wines and food available. I particularly like the front bar with it's plump sofas and comfy chairs. This is the kind of place you could entertain family, friends or business contacts. You can eat in the bar chatting over drinks, or have a more formal meal in the large restaurant.

Stix Bar Beaconsfield

This is a wonderful, intimate and unique wine bar, with a really tasty tapas style menu. There is no other venue like it locally and it definitely makes a real change from a traditional pub venue. Great for a natter with your girlfriends  over a glass of wine.

The Swan

Another great pub in the heart of Beaconsfield Old Town, it's had a wonderful facelift in recent years, and their live music and open mic nights really give it a lively and unique appeal. The menu is delicious, I particularly like their house burgers! There's a really pretty, grassy beer garden for warmer times of year, though it's modern yet tasteful interior and great range of beverages make it a real winner year round.

The White Hart

This is one of the only kid/family friendly pubs in Beaconsfield Old Town, and they do it very well indeed. Spacious and classic pub interiors with some big tables for larger group get togethers, and a varied menu which was served quickly. Good solid classic dishes to choose from here. There's a hotel at the rear also.

Now it's time to cast your own vote, and tell everyone about your own favouite among Beaconsfields drinking establishments!
