More than 100 people gathered, walking shoes at the ready, at Hall Barn Estate in Beaconsfield on Sunday 2nd October, to help raise £1,500 cash for the South Bucks Alzheimer's Society.

The 2.5 mile Memory Walk formed part of the Alzheimer Society's biggest fundraising event.

Beaconsfield MP and Attorney General, Dominic Grieve was there to send the walkers off on their way, on a picturesque route that took them around the lakes and through the woodland of the Hall Barn Estate.

According to Home Instead, providers of homecare services for the elderly - who also hosted this year's Memory Walk - there are 6,196 people suffering with demetia in Buckinghamshire alone.

This is set to increase by 40 per cent over the next ten years.
