Local Beaconsfield Author Jackie Martin has recently published a children's book called Burglar Boy, which has been met with very positive reviews.

This story is not about your typical black-hearted burglar. In fact Dean is a neglected eleven-year-old, encouraged to steal by his older brother in a secret life of crime. Then one day, during a break-in, Dean meets someone who makes his adventures take a whole new direction.

Making the unloved loveable, Jackie Martin has written a very entertaining feel-good story which are clearly inspired by real-life characters, and this will be a book that's enjoyed by adults and children alike.

Jackie told Beaconsfield People "I wanted to write an entertaining feel-good story, in memory of my wonderful mother-in-law, a physically disabled lady whose cheerfulness was an inspiration to everyone."

"I wrote this story because I have always been intrigued by the coincidences that link people together. I believe very strongly in the far-reaching consequences of altruism and in the importance of being kind to animals."

Jackie is married with a daughter and has many years experience working with children as an entertainer, teaching assistant and private tutor. She has a First-class (Honours) Degree in Psychology and sells her humorous designs on the website: jackiecartoons.com.

To buy yourself a copy of this heart warming book, please pop into Beacon Bookshop in Beaconsfield. It would also make a wonderful gift for any young family.
