Following the dramas and unrest that took place during the 2011 charter fayre, many local Beaconsfield people have said they will need to stop supporting this event, which has it's roots in history more than 700 years ago.

It seems tragic that a community occasion, that ought to bring people together has in fact become a place that parents fear taking their kids.

Growing up here, like many local people I remember Beaconsfield Fair very fondly from my childhood. But based on events over a series of years, it has turned into a place for excess and violence.

Visiting other local events, such as the Cherry Fayre in Flackwell Heath, it is clear that such local events can in fact be safe and entertaining for all the family, and giving everyone an opportunity to socialise together.

Is there anything that the residents of Beaconsfield can do to to transform the Beaconsfield Charter Fayre into an event that people want to flock to? We need to do something to bring this historic occasion back into a realm that is beneficial and nourishing for the area, rather than a nuisance and danger.

Any suggestions, comments or ideas that you have would be very much appreciated, so please message me here.
